What is holistic animal behaviour therapy?

Holistic means viewing the animal as a whole and not concentrating only on the part that is dis-eased i.e the behaviour. This means that in the case of a problem behaviour it is important to look at the body, the mind, and the spirit of the animal first and then focus on the actual behaviour in order to resolve the problem.

When I am called out to see an animal the first thing that I look at is the life of the animal as a whole. What is his/her life like within his/her family according to the specific needs of the animal that is to be treated. Are it’s needs being met? What is the nature of the relationship of this animal with the other members of its family? Is it happy? Is it fullfilled? Is it being treated like an animal or a human? ……..and the list goes on…..From the answers to these questions I can understand the state of the animal’s mind and spirit.

I then need to see if the body is being treated according to its needs. I investigate diet and the overall maintenance of the animal.

Investigation of all mind, body and spirit is done in 3 steps:

  1. By gathering information using my own senses and intuition
  2. By gathering information from the perspective of the owner via a questionnaire that includes a complete history of the animal and its problems
  3. By gathering information from the animal itself via kinesiology, 5-element theory and direct communication with the animal.

It is only with all this information that I can come to a conclusion regarding the animal and its problem because the problem behaviour that it is displaying is only the symptom and not the problem.

These 3 steps are carried out either in 2 visits to the animal or by long distance assessment. Both ways require a considerable amount of time spent at home analysing the information gathered and carrying out the energy tests.

It is only then that I am ready for a treatment plan which will include:

  1. changes in the maintenance of the animal (the owner is advised on his/her behaviour and the way that the animal is kept)
  2. behavioural techniques aimed at changing the behaviour to a behaviour more acceptable for owner and animal (these are demonstrated by me during my visits)
  3. Essential oils to unblock the animal at a deeper energetic level so as to regain balance

The animal is left with its owner for 2 weeks to establish the new regime and then a follow up is needed to monitor progress.
